The Macedonian American Friendship Association is a voluntary nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving the peace in the Republic of Macedonia by compiling and disseminating of information about the situation in Macedonia to the Government, Congressional representatives, and media and by increasing public awareness of the problems the Republic of Macedonia. The Association is working to achieve those goals by compiling and distributing accurate unbiased information through the Internet, media and mail and by helping Macedonian Americans to get involved in the political process in the US.
The Macedonian American Friendship Association wants to attract the greatest number of individuals that are willing and able to contribute to achieving those goals thereby creating a pool of resources from which ideas, energy and financial means can be drawn for achieving the common goal the betterment of our cause. can be drawn. It invites all interested individuals and organizations to contact the Association and describe the manner in which they can contribute their talents, skills, or financial means.
The Association encourages the formation of and will support the operation of any other organization with similar goals by initiating and entering into collaborative efforts and projects and in any other possible way.
The Macedonian American Friendship Association supports the following basic principles and concepts:
- Initiate and participates in political actions/initiatives, creating interest, raising awareness of general public and decision-makers about the events in Macedonia
- Promotes freedom to analyze, discuss, criticize events/issues from Macedonian political, economical, social, and other aspects of life;
- Promote the concept of democracy, political awareness, education, tolerance and understanding amongst various groups and individuals of Macedonian nationality (in and out of the country)
- Initiates and participates in actions which benefit citizens of Macedonia in and out of the country, including: Improving communications, E-mail, letters, Press/news releases, etc. Participation in scientific, Technical, Medical, Academic, Economic and other forms of cooperation/exchanges/assistance between Macedonian organizations and individuals and other interested parties; etc.
- Promote the Macedonia heritage, art, culture, traditions, history and church
- Promote equal rights for all citizens of Macedonia
- Do not support any political party, platform, or person, but only stated set of values.
