The Swiss genealogy company iGENEA has recently published its findings in a genetic research study conducted on the origins of the European nations. According to the study, the Macedonians of the present day Republic of Macedonia are indigenous people who trace their roots back to the ancient Macedonians, the nation of Alexander the Great.
Contrary to the popular belief of the Slavic roots of the present day Macedonians, the study found that in total, leading 30% of the genetic make-up of the present day Macedonians is identical to that of the ancient Macedonians. Only 15% of their DNA can be attributed to the Slavic peoples and remarkable 20% belong to the Teutons, an ancient Germanic peoples who a considered an ancestral nation to the present day German and Dutch nations among others. The complete listing of the genetic make-up of the present day Macedonians can be found at iGENEA’s web site at the following link: https://www.igenea.com/index.php?content=49a&id=40 The same study found that the present day Greeks have 35% of their DNA identical to that of the ancient Hellenic peoples, 20% identical to that of the ancient Slavs and only 5% to that of the ancient Macedonians. The complete break-down of the Greek DNA is given at: https://www.igenea.com/index.php?content=49a&id=8 The findings of the study firmly repudiate the lies spread by the government of Greece that the present day Macedonians are Slavic people and therefore have no right to the name of Macedonia both for the country and its people. The study not only confirms that the present day Macedonians in most part descend from the ancient Macedonians, but it also firmly establishes that the ancient Macedonians where not part of the Hellenic peoples which the Greeks descend from, as their DNA is clearly distinguishable from that of the ancient Hellenic peoples. |
