The Macedonian American Friendship Association is shocked and deeply saddened by the tragic death of President Boris Trajkovski, his advisors, and the plane crew. The Association extends its condolences to his family, the people of Macedonia, and friends of Macedonia everywhere.

The Macedonian American Friendship Association has a very close and special relationship with the President Trajkovski. The Association was formed by a group of representatives of several Macedonian-American organizations after they met with President Trajkovski in Washington DC in May of 2001 to seek resolution of the crisis caused by terrorist attacks on Macedonia. The Association representatives have met regularly and collaborated closely with him ever since in enlisting the support of the United States people and government in dealing with the crisis in Macedonia. His tireless efforts and conciliatory approach were instrumental in calming down the crisis in Macedonia and avoiding further bloodshed

We will be posting a tribute to President Trajkovski and the long history of collaboration the Macedonian American Friendship Association had with him at our web site at http://www.macedonianamerican.org. Please visit the web site often in the coming days for further updates.
